Many Americans are unhappy at work. According to new research conducted on behalf of Rasmussen College, almost one in five Americans say they are dissatisfied with their job, partially because they have no room to grow. In fact, more than half of the 2,000 U.S. adults surveyed say they don’t have significant growth opportunities in their current positions.

Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is partnering with Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida to help grant an 11-year-old Pasco County boy&#8217;s wish. Joey, who is diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, enjoys playing video and computer games, and like many 11-year-old boys, Joey spends his time exploring the newest games and playing them with friends. Joey says he wants to be a video game creator when he grows up. To help make that dream a reality, Rasmussen College is giving Joey a digital drawing tablet along with a one-year membership to Adobe Creative Cloud. The membership, which is worth up to $600, will give Joey access to Adobe&#8217;s suites of software for graphic design, video editing, web development applications and cloud services.

Healthy children and families contribute to the well-being of our communities. To bring awareness to the benefits of early childhood education (ECE), Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is partnering with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to celebrate Week of the Young Child, April 6-12, 2014. The purpose of the week, now in its 43rd year, is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. The College's theme for this year's Week of the Young Child is Investing in Young Children Benefits All.

Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is proud to announce Lauren Ramirez, Medical Assisting program coordinator at the Rasmussen College Tampa/Brandon campus, has been named the 2014 Elsevier/ABHES Master Teacher Award winner. The Master Teacher Award recognizes best practices in health careers education, and is presented by Elsevier, a leading provider of science and health information, and the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Ramirez was selected among 50 nominations across the country for her use of new tools and technologies in the classroom.

As the national job market continues to improve, Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is helping community members, students, and graduates take the next step in their careers by hosting a free nationwide Community Career Fair. The bi-annual event is set for Feb. 24-28, 2014 at 20 Rasmussen College campus locations across the country. The career fair is designed to help job seekers connect with employers and those currently in the workforce advance their careers. In addition to networking opportunities with local employers, those attending Rasmussen College’s Community Career Fair will also have access to panel discussions from human resources experts, professional dress consultations, LinkedIn training, resume reviews and mock interviews.

Due to the aftermath of Tuesday’s winter storm, the Rasmussen College Kansas City/Overland Park and Topeka campuses will remain closed Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014. Both campuses will reopen on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014 with classes to resume at their normal times.

Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is committed to improving the health of its communities. To recognize that commitment, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Ocala, a new facility located in Ocala, Fla., recently provided the Rasmussen College Ocala campus with $10,000 in scholarship money. The money was divided into $2,500 scholarships which were awarded to four students who are enrolled in the Rasmussen College School of Nursing to become a registered nurse (RN).

Due to potentially dangerous weather conditions expected across eastern Kansas Tuesday, the Rasmussen College Kansas City/Overland Park and Topeka campuses will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. Rasmussen College is closely monitoring local weather reports and will reopen both campuses once it is safe for students, staff and faculty to return. Currently, classes are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014.
|1/29/2014||Rasmussen College Partners With Northwest Kansas Technical College To Help Students In Northwest Kansas Continue Their Education And Advance Their Careers|
In an effort to help students in Northwest Kansas continue their education and advance their careers, Rasmussen College recently partnered with Northwest Kansas Technical College located in Goodland, Kan. and granted Northwest Tech students full transfer of credits into its AcceleratED Bachelor’s Degree Completion program. Northwest Tech students who have earned their Associate’s degree also receive an affordable $167 per credit rate when they enroll in the fully online Bachelor’s degree program within one year of graduation. That’s a 35 percent discount from the traditional AcceleratED Degree program per credit cost.

Rasmussen College announced today its transition from a traditional for-profit corporation to a Public Benefit Corporation. The change in corporate status reflects the commitment of the College to a higher standard of transparency, accountability and public service while harnessing the power of business to make a positive impact on society. Through the Public Benefit Corporation designation, Rasmussen College joins more than 850 companies spanning 60 industries.
