Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, joins the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to celebrate Week of the Young Child (WOYC)™, April 16–20. NAEYC has celebrated WOYC annually since 1971 with Rasmussen College honoring the week College-wide since 2011. The week is dedicated to better meeting the needs of our country’s young children, their families and the educators who teach them. This year, Rasmussen College is acknowledging the increased focus nationwide on the importance of STEAM concepts: science, technology, engineering, art and math. The College believes now is an opportune time to discuss how we can address these large and often complex topics with young children to develop and foster an interest in STEAM at an early age. This year’s internal theme, Celebrating Our Youngest Learners Through STEAM, will be recognized across the College’s 22 campuses and online.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Radiologic Technology Associate’s degree program at its Lake Elmo/Woodbury, Minn. and Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco, Fl. campuses have earned programmatic accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Accreditation signifies the College’s Radiologic Technology program has met or exceeded standards and criteria for educational quality in Radiologic Technology curriculum and prepares students to work successfully in the profession upon graduation.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced two newly relaunched Business degree programs: a Finance Bachelor’s degree-completion program and a Marketing Bachelor’s degree-completion program. Through curriculum developed to reflect the latest financial, digital marketing and sales management practices, these flexible, fully online degrees are designed to equip students with a strong business foundation and skills to meet the high demand for business professionals nationwide.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its newly relaunched Cyber Security accelerated Bachelor’s degree-completion program. Previously, Rasmussen College offered an Information Security Bachelor’s degree program and has chosen to refresh its curriculum, credential and name to better align with industry and employer demands. Results from the eighth Global Information Security Workforce Study (GISWS) found the workforce gap in cyber security is estimated to be growing, with the projected shortage reaching 1.8 million professionals by 2022. The new Cyber Security program is designed to prepare students to secure proprietary information, defend data and ultimately help to close the nationwide technical skills gap.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the launch of its Surgical Technologist Associate’s degree program at its New Port Richey/West Pasco campus with classes beginning in April. The program can be completed in as few as 21 months and prepares students for a rewarding career working with medical teams and patients as a surgical technologist—one of the fastest-growing professions in the healthcare field.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is proud to announce that Dr. Joan Rich, Rasmussen College’s Vice President of Nursing, was recently appointed to the National League for Nursing (NLN) Foundation for Nursing Education’s new Advisory Council. Dr. Rich will join nine other leaders from across the country on the Advisory Council, and is one of only five members representing a higher education institution. The group of industry leaders will help provide insight into the future of nursing education and work to overcome challenges the industry faces, as well as build awareness of the NLN Foundation, its mission and the work it does to provide faculty scholarships annually.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Practical Nursing program (PN) at the Tampa/Brandon, FL campus, will be offered on evenings and weekends starting in April. The Rasmussen College PN Diploma program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. New PN students starting in April will be able to choose to enroll in the evening and weekend program at the Tampa/Brandon campus or the weekday program at the Land O’Lakes/East Pasco campus. The evening and weekend PN program is designed to accommodate growing healthcare needs in the community and ensure all who are seeking nursing education can find program options to fit into their schedules.
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the opening of its brand new Mankato campus. The new campus is located at 1400 Madison Avenue within an existing business center, about a mile from its previous location at Saint Andrews Drive. The single-story facility includes large, high-tech classrooms, new computer labs and simulation equipment, updated health sciences and nursing labs as well as expanded student learning and faculty spaces. The new Mankato campus is now open to students with classes beginning this week.
