Rasmussen College Launches an Evening and Weekend Practical Nursing Program at Its Tampa/Brandon Campus
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Practical Nursing program (PN) at the Tampa/Brandon, FL campus, will be offered on evenings and weekends starting in April. The Rasmussen College PN Diploma program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. New PN students starting in April will be able to choose to enroll in the evening and weekend program at the Tampa/Brandon campus or the weekday program at the Land O’Lakes/East Pasco campus. The evening and weekend PN program is designed to accommodate growing healthcare needs in the community and ensure all who are seeking nursing education can find program options to fit into their schedules.

Rasmussen College Opens Brand New Mankato Campus to Students
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the opening of its brand new Mankato campus. The new campus is located at 1400 Madison Avenue within an existing business center, about a mile from its previous location at Saint Andrews Drive. The single-story facility includes large, high-tech classrooms, new computer labs and simulation equipment, updated health sciences and nursing labs as well as expanded student learning and faculty spaces. The new Mankato campus is now open to students with classes beginning this week.

Rasmussen College Surgical Technologist Program in Romeoville/Joliet Earns Accreditation
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its Surgical Technologist Associate’s degree program at its Romeoville/Joliet, Ill. campus has earned programmatic accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Accreditation signifies the Surgical Technologist program, which is also offered at the College’s Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove, Moorhead and St. Cloud, Minn. campuses as well as in Rockford, Ill. has met or exceeded standards and criteria for educational quality in Surgical Technology curriculum and preparation for students to work successfully in the profession upon graduation.

Rasmussen College Recognizes Computer Science Education Week
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced its support for Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek), an annual program committed to inspiring K–12 students to take interest in computer science and coding at a young age. During the week, which takes place Dec. 4–10, kids across the globe participate in Hour of Code®, a movement that encourages schools, youth organizations and parents to dedicate an hour to coding—proving that it can be fun and approachable. This year, Rasmussen College launched a new coding maze game for kids called Code Road to help demystify computer science, support the industry’s initiatives and prepare the next generation of programmers to be successful in the digital economy.

Rasmussen College Announces New Executive Director Positions for Its Schools of Business, Technology, Design and Health Sciences
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the additions of two new executive director positions and hires for its Schools of Business, Technology, Design and Health Sciences. Mike Burica joins Rasmussen College as the executive director of the School of Technology, Business and Design. In this new position, Burica will help differentiate the College’s technology, business and design programs to better meet the needs of today’s digital economy. Cami Jacobson joins Rasmussen College as the executive director of the School of Health Sciences. As executive director, Jacobson will help drive an increasingly complex and broad selection of existing and emerging patient care and health sciences programs for the College. Both Burica and Jacobson officially started in their new roles in October.

Rasmussen College Expands Competency-Based Education Model to School of Technology
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the expansion of its Flex Choice® Competency-Based Education (CBE) program model to the College’s first School of Technology program—the Computer Science Bachelor’s degree-completion program. The model, which first launched in Fall 2016, provides students with an efficient, relevant and flexible way to earn a college degree. Students interested in enrolling in the Computer Science program now have the option of taking CBE courses that allow them to earn credit for skills they already have while mastering the skills they need to complete their degree. Enrollment is immediately available.

Rasmussen College Hosting Free Virtual Career Fair
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will host its first Virtual Career Fair Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. CDT. The free event will help students, graduates and community members advance their job-seeking skills and gain access to career experts and leading employers from across the country. Job seekers will have the opportunity to network with potential employers, receive resume consultations and participate in mock interviews with Rasmussen College career development professionals. The event allows for convenient access to real-time hiring professionals from the comfort of your own home or office.

Rasmussen College Recognizes National Cyber Security Awareness Month
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced two upcoming events as well as the launch of a new animated infographic on social media security in recognition of National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s annual campaign is designed to raise awareness about the importance of cyber security as well as provide the public with tools and resources needed to be safe online. This year, Rasmussen College will host two cyber security awareness events–the first on Tue., Oct. 24 in the Twin Cities and the second on Wed., Oct. 25 in Tampa to help students, staff and community members learn how to protect their digital identity from cyber-crime. Both events are free and open to the public.

Rasmussen College to Host Seventh Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced plans to host its seventh annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast on Thur., Oct. 19 in Vadnais Heights, Minn. Around 400 current and aspiring leaders are expected to attend the two-hour event where they will have the opportunity to connect with local nonprofits and women’s organizations, network with professionals from across the Twin Cities and hear from distinguished speaker, 2017 WNBA Championship coach Cheryl Reeve. As the keynote speaker, the Minnesota Lynx head coach will speak to attendees about this year’s theme, “Creating a Championship Culture.”
