Rasmussen College Offers Its First Graduate Degree Program
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today launched its first graduate degree program, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The online master’s degree program is designed to meet the increasing need for a more skilled and educated workforce, including nurse leaders and nurse educators. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, nearly 70,000 qualified nursing candidates were turned away from college nursing programs due to an insufficient number of faculty in 2014.
Survey Finds Online Presence Important Factor in Hiring Process
In today’s highly digital world, it’s becoming increasingly important to have a strong online brand — no matter your occupation or field of interest. In fact, Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, found in a recent Employer and Student Survey* that around 33 percent of employers research a job candidate’s online presence during the hiring process. The College will host 15 free Community Career Fairs nationwide Oct. 20 – Nov. 2 to help community members, students and graduates build their online brands and advance their job seeking skills. Attendees will gain access to career experts and local employers with open positions. Events will include networking with potential employers, LinkedIn and resume consultations, mock interviews and professional dress advice.
Rasmussen College Launches Accelerated Entrance Options for Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in Minnesota
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the launch of two accelerated entrance options for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at its Bloomington and Mankato, Minn. campuses. The Rasmussen College BSN degree program, which is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), is immediately available with the accelerated pre-licensure entrance options that are designed for students who are committed to the nursing profession and eager to launch their careers as quickly as possible. The accelerated entrance options also help fill a significant need for registered nurses with bachelor’s degrees in Minnesota. Classes are expected to begin in January.
Rasmussen College Launches Child Development Specialization for Early Childhood Education Bachelor’s Degree
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, recently launched a Child Development specialization for its Early Childhood Education (ECE) Bachelor’s degree-completion program. The new specialization allows students to go beyond the basics of child development to understand more deeply how and why children learn and develop the way they do. Skills learned include how to run an ECE program, communicate with families, develop curriculum and lead other teachers, while maintaining best practices working with young learners from infancy through preschool. Students can complete the non-licensure Bachelor’s degree-completion program in as few as 18 months*.
Rasmussen College Tampa Bay Area Nursing Programs Earn ACEN Accreditation
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, will give back to its local communities on Friday during the College’s eighth annual Community Service Day. Approximately 1,200 employees and students from its 23 campuses and three central offices will participate in the national service day event. Through this annual effort, staff and students will volunteer more than 4,500 hours in just one 24-hour period.

Rasmussen College Receives Approval for New Competency-Based Education Model
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced it received approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to begin offering competency-based education hybrid degree programs. Competency-based education, or CBE, provides clear and specific learning goals to students while allowing them to achieve their learning in flexible time frames. CBE also allows students to build on their knowledge and apply new skills to scenarios that will help prepare them for the real world and workplace. Rasmussen College received approval to offer its Business Management and Accounting Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree-completion programs in a CBE format.
Rasmussen College School of Nursing Opens New Facility in Ocala
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the opening of its new, School of Nursing facility in Ocala. Construction on the new nursing campus, located at 1227 Southwest 17th Ave., was completed in June. Students began using the new multimillion dollar, 21,000-square-foot facility Tuesday.
Rasmussen College Launches Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Minneapolis and Tampa Bay Area Campuses
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the launch of a Physical Therapist Assistant Associate’s degree program at its Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove, Minn., and Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco, Fla., campuses. The flexible, hands-on program is designed to help students start their career as a physical therapist assistant (PTA) in as few as 18 months. A licensed PTA works directly with patients, under the direction of a physical therapist, which includes performing therapeutic exercises using a variety of techniques and equipment to help treat patients, educate patients and their family members, and advocate to physical therapists on their behalf. Classes are scheduled to start at both the Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove and Land O’ Lakes/East Pasco campuses in January.
