Rasmussen College Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove Campus Receives Merit Award from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, is proud to announce its Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove, Minn. campus recently received the annual merit award from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) for achieving a 100 percent pass rate1 on the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination. According to the NBSTSA, graduates obtaining national certification as a CST demonstrate understanding of the basic competencies for safe patient care in the operating room. The CST is recognized in the healthcare community as an important and highly valued credential for surgical technologists. The CST is also required for employment within many local, state and national health organizations. This is the fourth straight year the Rasmussen College Brooklyn Park/Maple Grove campus has achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the CST exam.

Rasmussen College Continues to Advance Competency-Based Education with New Program Model
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today launched the Flex Choice® Competency-Based Education (CBE) program model, providing students with an efficient, relevant and flexible way to earn a college degree. The model is initially being rolled out to the College’s seven business bachelor’s degree-completion programs with plans to expand to other degree programs. In the unique CBE program model, students choose between traditional courses and competency-based education courses that allow them to earn credit for skills they already have while mastering the skills they need to complete their degree. Students can complete the Rasmussen College Competency-Based Education business programs in as few as 18 months.

Rasmussen College Expands Accelerated Entrance Options for Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in Florida
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today announced the expansion of its accelerated entrance options for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in the Tampa Bay area and Southwest Florida. The Rasmussen College BSN degree program, which is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), is now available with two accelerated pre-licensure entrance options at the College’s Tampa/Brandon and Fort Myers campuses with classes expected to begin in January. The entrance options are designed for students who are committed to the nursing profession and eager to launch their careers as quickly as possible, as well as help fill a significant need for registered nurses (RNs) with bachelor’s degrees in Florida. The accelerated BSN entrance options first launched at the Rasmussen College Land O’Lakes/East Pasco campus in fall 2015.

Rasmussen College Offers Its First Graduate Degree Program
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, today launched its first graduate degree program, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). The online master’s degree program is designed to meet the increasing need for a more skilled and educated workforce, including nurse leaders and nurse educators. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, nearly 70,000 qualified nursing candidates were turned away from college nursing programs due to an insufficient number of faculty in 2014.

Survey Finds Online Presence Important Factor in Hiring Process
In today’s highly digital world, it’s becoming increasingly important to have a strong online brand — no matter your occupation or field of interest. In fact, Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, found in a recent Employer and Student Survey* that around 33 percent of employers research a job candidate’s online presence during the hiring process. The College will host 15 free Community Career Fairs nationwide Oct. 20 – Nov. 2 to help community members, students and graduates build their online brands and advance their job seeking skills. Attendees will gain access to career experts and local employers with open positions. Events will include networking with potential employers, LinkedIn and resume consultations, mock interviews and professional dress advice.

Rasmussen College Launches Child Development Specialization for Early Childhood Education Bachelor’s Degree
Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college, recently launched a Child Development specialization for its Early Childhood Education (ECE) Bachelor’s degree-completion program. The new specialization allows students to go beyond the basics of child development to understand more deeply how and why children learn and develop the way they do. Skills learned include how to run an ECE program, communicate with families, develop curriculum and lead other teachers, while maintaining best practices working with young learners from infancy through preschool. Students can complete the non-licensure Bachelor’s degree-completion program in as few as 18 months*.

It also compares success factors of college graduates to non-degree holders throughout different stages of life.
