Rasmussen College Breaks Ground On 26,600 Square Foot Campus In Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN — October 12, 2004 — Rasmussen College, a private, career-education college system in Minnesota, broke ground on a new campus in Brooklyn Park, MN last week. The campus is the fifth in the state for the Roseville-based career college, and its third in the Minneapolis metro area.

The Brooklyn Park campus will offer classes beginning in the summer of 2005. Programs in information technology, criminal justice, allied health, business, accounting and childcare will all be offered at the Brooklyn Park campus. In addition to programs offered on campus, students will also have the option of taking courses and potentially entire programs online.

"The Brooklyn Park area is one of the fastest growing regions in Minneapolis and we look forward to meeting the demands of the population there by opening our new campus next summer," said Kristi Waite, President of Rasmussen College. "Rasmussen College has been in the Twin Cities for over a century and this new campus provides us an opportunity to continue to expand and add new programs, thereby increasing our support for the community."

Duke Construction is leading the construction project, located at the Crosstown North Business Center, at the southeast corner of Highway 169 and 93rd Ave. in Brooklyn Park. Rasmussen College will lease the building from Duke Realty, which owns and develops the mixed-use business park.

In addition to its new campus in Brooklyn Park, Rasmussen College is also significantly expanding its Mankato campus, adding 8,500 square feet to the existing 15,000 square foot campus. The new space is designed to accommodate recently added programs in massage therapy and pharmacy technology currently offered at the Mankato campus.
