Rasmussen College Launches Online

March 15, 2005 -- MINNETONKA, MN – This morning Rasmussen College announced the creation of its new online campus that will focus on providing fully-online programs. The initial launch includes four of the school's most popular programs: Associate of Applied Science Degrees in Business Management, Health Information Technician, Accounting and Criminal Justice. Classes begin in April, 2005.

"For over 100 years Rasmussen College has been servicing students near our four campuses in Minnesota. Over the last few years our student body has increasingly asked for online programs, and today we have 42% of our student body taking at least one course online," stated Michael Locke, chairman of Rasmussen College. "The formation of Rasmussen College Online allows students to benefit from a Rasmussen education regardless of where they live and when they can go to school."

Rasmussen College, regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of College and Schools, began offering select courses online in 2001, but this marks the first full program offerings online for the college. The programs offered through Rasmussen College Online are the same programs as those offered on campus. Students who enroll in Rasmussen's fully online programs may complete the application process via the internet, or alternatively may visit one of the school's four Minnesota campuses. Online students have access to the same set of student services offered to its on-campus students at Rasmussen College, including 24/7 Personal Support Center, tutoring, and job placement assistance.

Rasmussen College Online is led by Greg Witte, the recently announced vice president of online. An experienced eight-year veteran with Rasmussen College, Mr. Witte has served as director of development as well as campus director for Rasmussen's Minnetonka campus, the school's most rapidly growing campus. "We are thrilled to take Rasmussen College to the next level of education delivery," commented Kristi Waite, president of Rasmussen College. "Greg Witte brings his student-centric management style to Rasmussen College Online's distance learners."
