Rasmussen College Now Offering Criminal Justice A.A.S. Degree Program
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – July 2003 -- Rasmussen College has added Criminal Justice to its program offerings. The Criminal Justice program prepares students to protect property and people; help legal offenders adjust to life in the community; and assist businesses with investigations.
The Criminal Justice program at Rasmussen College is an Associate of Applied Science degree and classes are offered both during the day and the evening. The program includes core classes in law, criminal procedures, corrections, policing, domestic violence, juvenile justice, and private security.
"What's great about Rasmussen College's Criminal Justice program is that it prepares the student to work either the human services area of criminal justice, or the security and corrections area," said Carie Ann Potenza, Criminal Justice Program Director at Rasmussen College.
Students who graduate from the Criminal Justice program can obtain a variety of professional positions including Corrections Officer, Private Security, Juvenile Specialist, Court Clerk, and Support Probation Specialist.
The Minnesota Workforce Center projects that the demand for security personnel in Minnesota will increase 34.4% through the year 2008, and the number of Corrections Officers needed is projected to increase 32.4% through 2008.
