Returning Students
Achieving a college education is one of the best ways for you to improve the possibilities for your life, career and future. Without an advanced degree, finding a good job becomes harder and harder every day.
We are very pleased that you would like to return to Rasmussen College. Our greatest commitment is to help you succeed in your educational and life goals.
Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition:
- Contact Jeff Laing, Re-entry Specialist, at (866) 693-2211. He will guide you through each of the steps in our Re-entry Process.
- Following through with our Re-entry Process - seriously and to the best of your ability - will demonstrate your commitment to your education, and will be considered in our Re-entry Approval process.
All students who wish to re-enter Rasmussen College must complete the following list of requirements. Our Re-Entry Specialist will guide you through each of these steps to assure you have a smooth transition returning to Rasmussen College. If you have questions, never hesitate to ask.
- Read and understand our Re-entry Policy.
- Complete a Re-Entry Letter to be submitted to Rasmussen College.
- Arrange a payment plan with Student Accounts if you owe money to Rasmussen College. Note:You cannot start class without paying off your balance.
- Your Re-Entry Specialist will contact you to set up an Academic Meeting to discuss your status as a Returning Student.
- Your Re-Entry Specialist will have you contact your Financial Aid Representative to discuss your Financial Aid status.
- View the Online Re-Entry Orientation (your Re-Entry Specialist will send you a link)
- Your Re-Entry Specialist will e-mail you your schedule for the upcoming term.
- Purchase books, if applicable.
Any student who withdraws from classes after the first week of the initial quarter of attendance and then elects to return for a subsequent quarter is defined as a Re-entering Student. Re-entering Students are Returning Students, who are treated as New Students for the purposes of tuition, academic program requirements, and graduation standards. For the calculation of satisfactory academic progress, Re-entering Students are treated as Continuing Students, and must meet current progress requirements. Students are permitted to re-enter the institution only one time, unless the Dean of Instruction, Campus Director or Associate Campus Director determines that extenuating circumstances exist to make an exception.
Re-Entry Letter:
Your Re-entry Letter must be typed in a Microsoft Office Word document, and should address the following points:
- Acknowledgement of the Rasmussen College Re-entry Policy
- When did you withdraw?
- Why did you withdraw?
- How have you overcome the obstacles that influenced your decision to withdraw?
- What is going to keep you from withdrawing again?
- How does your plan to start school again fit into your “big picture?”
