Well let’s start by saying I’m no fitness expert. I can’t run a mile in 5 minutes. I don’t have abs or buns of steel. My body fat percentage is not a single digit number. I can’t bike like Lance Armstrong, swim like Michael Phelps, or finish a race looking as stunning and strong as Deena Kastor. And I certainly will never be the one breaking through the finish line first at a race…ever.
What I am is a woman who went from thinking drinking wine and watching “Desperate Housewives” was exercise to a full blown endurance sport athlete. This month marks two years from my first marathon finish…a moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life. That was the exact moment I knew I was hooked. In the last two years I have run two full marathons, two half marathons, countless 5, 10, and 15k races, and competed in five triathlons. I am a woman who has learned life isn’t worth living unless you live it loud. And for me, living life loud means pushing myself to do more than I ever thought I could do.
Whether I’m winning my age group or finishing dead last at the back of the pack, I’m having the time of my life. When I’m not working out you can find me pursuing on my other passion – working at Rasmussen.
