Well I did it...

Dedication and will finally landed me a job in this crazy job market. That’s right…Just last week I passed 2 interview screenings, phone interview and personality test which resulted in an offer. I was extremely surprised because it seemed as if it all happened so quickly.  By this I mean I had the interviews and phone screen all in just a couple of days. Most companies are doing this now, but they are taking much longer to make a decision.

Prior to my phone call that afternoon with the offer, I had another company call me back in for a 2nd interview. I was very persistent with them and made my follow up calls and emails as I should. They really liked my approach and decided to bring me back in to meet with the Branch Manager.  After agreeing to the next interview I was back to my search because nothing is set until the offer letter comes my way. At this time I still had to complete some online personality test for a few other companies I had interviewed with. And let me just say…these personality test are not quick and easy. They are time consuming, but very important.

Later that after noon the phone rang with the offer. They stated that they were impressed with my abilities, interview conversations and liked my personality test results. They did not feel that I had the exact amount of experience that they would normally prefer, but they were willing to give me a try. I was in aw because I had another opportunity lined up for Monday. I asked if I could make a phone call to discuss some things and I would get back with them. They could not allow me to wait because the training was starting on Monday. What does one do at this time? Well there was no room for panic so I called the other company and explained my situation. They stated that even after my 2nd interview, it was still going to be a while before making a decision. She stated that my references were great and she felt I was a great fit for the company, but did not know when they were going to be making final decisions. I took this information and made my decision.

I accepted…. I wanted to work with someone who was ready to make a move. I started at the company that next Monday. The company helps people in executive level positions find employment. Still being able to help people with their need which is what I enjoy most. The company has been in business since 1961. Everyone has been great and welcoming me with open arms. I truly feel things happen in life for a reason and life is a full circle. I wish everyone else who has lost their jobs due to the economy best wishes in your search. Remember searching for a job is a job within it’s self. It takes time, patience and a drive to succeed. If you have any questions or would like to speak with me for support please let me know.
