Well everyone this year was not my lucky year. You might ask why? Well for the second time this year I was laid off from work. Not only was I let go, but was let go the day before Christmas Eve. Talk about couth… Do corporate companies really have any respect for those that take care of their companies? I really do not think so…No matter how are you work for them and how much money your bring in during the good times, they just don’t care when it comes down to their pocket loosing.
Now I have some friends who work for smaller family owned businesses and they are still getting laid off, but they were given until after the holidays. They had warning and didn’t ruin anyone’s holidays. That is how we all should operate. The more I work for the larger corporations the less I respect them. Yeah, they say if you want to be able to go within a company you need to work for a large organization, but I do not believe it. As a matter of fact you have a better chance of getting to the top.
Well I am jobless and Christmas is 2 days away. Talk about a downer… And they worst part is my family decided to do Secret Santa and I feel bad for the person who I got…he isn’t getting as much as he should. I defiantly will be making that up to him. I just can’t go and buy gifts knowing I might not be able to pay my bills…is that wrong of me? Christmas is about giving and I can not do that….That makes me even sadder.
Well I hope everyone has a great Holiday! Enjoy this time with all of your friends and family…They are the ones that really matter in life. Happy Holidays!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and for those that do not celebrate…well I hope you had the time off so you could relax and spend quality time with family and friends. I love Thanksgiving because it is one holiday were we all can get together enjoying each others company and not worry about buying someone gifts. It is a holiday that allows us to be thankful for the family and friends we have and the good food we get to eat.
I did not cook the holiday meal this year. I did that a couple of years ago and boy do I give my mom props for cooking every Thanksgiving without a second thought. Personally If I never have to cook the whole meal again…I won’t. And I love to cook, but it is exhausting and you truly do not get to enjoy everyone and everything around you. Then by the time you have finished cooking so everyone can eat…you are not hungry at all. NOPE...I love eating on Thanksgiving so I’ll pass. However I did make some deserts that night before this year and that was fun! I sat around with some friends and I made a Carrot Cake Cheese Cake, Pumpkin Role and a Rum Cake. The Cheese Cake I made for the first time and it came out delicious! It was layers of cake then cheese cake. If you like carrot cakes, then you have to try it. Let me know and I will get the recipe for you.
This year at the dinner table we went around telling everyone what we were thankful for. So people were funny and it was sad to hear what they had to live for…J/k. However others were genuine and really touched my heart. I was thankful for having the great friends and family to share the holidays with. There are a lot of people in the world whom have nobody special in their lives to chare these great times with. I am also thankful for being healthy and being able to get out of bed morning. There are things in life so many of us take for granted. So what were you thankful for this year?
