Hi All,

I hope your having a wonderful first day of the Winter quarter. Did you make any resolutions in the new year? Anything regarding school? My resolution this year was to find balance. To make sure that I am respecting my own personal needs and wants while still pushing myself. I think sometimes we get lost in the hard things in life. I want to make sure when that starts to happen to me that I find the reassurance in that the good things in my life are just as powerful and important as those hard things. I  hope you all are able to achieve the resolutions you set for yourself. I also hope you used the holidays to network amongst your family and friends regarding your career search. These people are your allies (people that want you to do well and find success) make the most of it.

Hi All,

I hope your having a wonderful break week and getting ready to ring in the new year. I know I have been pretty MIA from the posting world this past quarter. I predict in the new year you will be seeing more posts from me. You may be wondering what has been going on this quarter. Well I taught career development residentially with a blended element and it was a a blast. I loved my class they made every day a fun one. I worked at getting my students/grads jobs...this means a lot of resumes went out this past quarter. I have been volunteering a lot (Simpson Housing Family Services, Project Homeless Connect, Twin Cities Rise, and so on). I strongly suggest volunteering as it is good for a persons soul and also good as a resume builder. I have been figuring out ways to keep my house well heated this winter (a yearly struggle for me-so far I am winning mostly this year). I hope you have all stayed warm this holiday season. Please make the most of your last days break week and I will see you around campus and at this blog in the new year.

What is coming up in the new year from the Career Services Department:

  • A gigantic job fair on campus on January 21st (Rasmussen Grads and Students will get the edge if they arrive at 2:30 on the dot) from 2:30-5:30 pm Eden Prairie Campus. More to come on this.
  • A small business event talking about what it takes to start up your own business in your respective field.
  • Volunteer and Part Time event
  • Plus another panel of some sort...if you have suggestions let me know. I am currently thinking accounting. :)
  • Graduation March 14th

Best Regards,
Kelsey
