Definition of a Credit Unit at Rasmussen College

Beginning in July of 2002, the following credit definition applies to all programs at Rasmussen College:

One quarter credit is awarded for each:

• 10 clock hours of lecture
• 20 clock hours of laboratory
• 30 clock hours of internship

Prior to July of 2002, the College awarded quarter credit hours in all programs except the Child Care Specialist Program detailed below.

The following definition applies to student enrolled prior to July of 2002:

One quarter credit is awarded for each:

• 12 clock hours of lecture
• 24 clock hours of laboratory
• 36 clock hours of internship

Prior to 2000, the Child Care Specialist Program awarded semester credit hours. The following definition applies:

One semester credit is awarded for each:

• 15 clock hours of lecture
• 30 clock hours of laboratory
• 45 clock hours of internship
