How do I know which Certification to pick?
Your Learning Manager and/or your Admissions Representative will work with you to review the Certifications we offer and determine which ones will best help you achieve your career goals.
Should I get a Certification or go for a degree?
That decision is a personal one. There are certainly benefits to both options. Your Learning Manager will work closely with you to help you decide which path is the best one for you.
How many college credits can I get for my Certifications?
That depends on which degree program you choose to enter. Each Certification exam typically replaces one class, which is worth three credits.
What if I don’t know anything about computers?
That’s ok. We pride ourselves on our ability to help novices enter into the rewarding IT field. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional in the field, we have the right program for your needs.
What if I don’t have a computer at home?
That’s alright. You can come to the Hub and use the computers on-campus to complete any Certification class program.
How long does it take to earn a Certification?
It depends on the Certification track you have chosen. Some Certifications take only a couple of months, while other more complex Certifications can take up to a year to complete.
How will these programs be taught?
We use a blended learning approach to help you learn the information and concepts needed to pass your Certification exams. You will work hands on with different technologies and equipment in the Hub lab. Each class also contains online components through virtual labs - in which you will connect to real equipment and conduct lab exercises - and multimedia presentations that will assist you with various industry concepts.
Will someone be available to help me through the tough parts of my classes?
Your Learning Manager will be there for you every step of the way with suggestions and tips on success strategies for your classes. In some cases, they may meet with you one-on-one in order to help you gain a comfort level with the material but in most instances, you will be able to tackle the curriculum on your own with little outside help.
What kind of equipment do you have in your main lab?
We offer Cisco 2811 routers, Cisco 290 switches, an HP server, Cisco 7941 IP Phones, Cisco 3560 POE switches, and flat screen monitors come standard on all lab PCs. You will get the maximum hands on experience with our Certification training. This differentiates us from other providers.
What other resources are available?
As a Hub student, you will also have access to the on-campus library, break room, and other areas that we have created just to help you relax and receive the most benefit from your Hub experience.
Can I take my Certification tests at the Hub?
Yes. We offer VUE and Prometric testing services onsite.
Do you have a test pass guarantee?
You will receive a test voucher after the successful completion of your Certification class. You are offered up to three chances to retest within a given certification track. Normally, with the help of their Learning Manager, the vast majority of students pass on the first try.
How will I know when I’m ready to take a Certification exam?
You have the ability to take practice tests every week, which will help you gage your progress as you prepare for the real exam. Once all the material has been covered in the class, a final practice test will be administered. Earning a score of 95% or higher is recommended before taking the real exam.
Will I have to pay for exams?
One exam voucher is included in the cost of the Certification classes.
Can I use Financial Aid to pay for my classes?
Traditional financial aid (Federal Aid) is not available for use at the Hub. Other sources of funding must be obtained. Some options may be workforce development, tuition reimbursement, personal loans, etc.
