Situated on the shoreline of the Caloosahatchee River, Fort Myers was originally built as one of the first military bases of operation during the Seminole Indian Wars. Today, Fort Myers has evolved into a bustling community that prides itself on offering something to residents and visitors of all ages.

Along with its scenic landscape, Fort Myers is filled with beaches, a renowned yacht marina with a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance, historic homes, and numerous golf courses.  Commonly known as a tourist and retiree destination, the city contains many nature parks and recreational areas that offer fresh water fishing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, and playgrounds.  Fort Myers also hosts a local farmer’s market every Thursday, attracting tourists and residents since 1994.
