Founded in 1860 and located on the south bank of the Minnesota River, Eagan is a suburb of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Originally a rural town known as the “Onion Capitol of the U.S.” due to its penchant for growing onions, Eagan has recently transformed into one of Minnesota’s fastest growing suburban cities.
This family-friendly city focuses its efforts on developing and supporting education, community, and local businesses. Eagan has three public school districts and more than 20 public and private elementary, middle, and high schools.
