Freya’s Story
Jeff, an Admissions Representative, had gone through the entire admissions process with Freya. Freya had told Jeff that she wanted to earn a degree to provide a better life for her son and have a career instead of a job.
One week into her courses, Freya called Jeff and told him that she wanted to drop out because she was overwhelmed with this new aspect of her life. Jeff talked with her about how starting school is just like starting a new job. The first couple of weeks can be overwhelming but, soon everything slows down and you begin to wonder how you ever thought the job was hard.
Freya decided to stick with it. She is currently enrolled in her last quarter of classes with a 4.0 GPA, and has been on the Dean and President’s list every quarter.
Cassie’s Story
Cassie was having trouble figuring out how to use a tool in Microsoft Word that she needed for one of her assignments. When she called into the Personal Support Center, Takiya, an online Student Services Coordinator, was happy to help.
Takiya went into Word and thoroughly walked Cassie through the process of how to use the tool. Cassie was able to finish her assignment and turn it in on time.
