New Ft. Myers college receives approval to start classes July 2007

Fort Myers (FL) — Rasmussen College recently received approval from its regional accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission, to open its newest campus in Ft. Myers this Fall.
The Ft. Myers campus will be the third Rasmussen College campus in Florida; the other two are in Tampa Bay and Ocala. Including the new Ft. Myers campus, Rasmussen has fourteen campuses overall: six in Minnesota, two in North Dakota, one in Illinois, the other two in Florida, and it operates Rasmussen College Online—a national online division of the college.
"The addition of the Ft. Myers campus is an exciting step for Rasmussen College," Rasmussen College President Kristi Waite said. "We are institution dedicated to serving our community, and we look forward to providing the high quality academic and support services we are known for to the community of Ft. Myers."
The primary focus of the Ft. Myers campus will be in the School of Technology and Design and the School of Allied Health offered by Rasmussen College. The campus will also offer its core programs in the School of Business and the School of Justice Studies.
The Ft. Myers campus is located at 9150 Forum Corporate Parkway and is a part of the new development east of I-75 and Colonial Boulevard—The Forum. In addition to new retail shops like the Home Depot, Rasmussen College will occupy almost 18,000 square feet.
Rasmussen College was founded in 1900 in St. Paul, MN and is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
In addition to its high accreditation, Rasmussen College offers a strong community, personalized student support services and career placement assistance. To date, Rasmussen College has placed more than 92 percent of its students in careers for which they came to college to study.
The new Ft. Myers Campus is scheduled to open in April 9, and the first on-campus classes will begin in July.
