EAGAN, (MN) — Community members are invited to attend a free Police Car Technology Demonstration and Criminal Justice orientation night hosted by Rasmussen College on Wednesday, May 9th at 6:00 p.m.

The Eagan Police Department will demonstrate the technology and resources officers have in a real police car including Radar and laser speed-reading technology, Preliminary Breath Test (PBT) alcohol screeners, 800-megahertz radio system, Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) and more.

An Eagan Police Officer will give a brief overview of a career in policing at the Criminal Justice orientation night at Rasmussen College. Attendees will also find out what job, volunteer and internship opportunities are available to students and professionals in the Criminal Justice field and will have the opportunity to see some of the hands on items used in the profession.

The Orientation Night at Rasmussen College will give the public a chance to ask local police officers questions and learn about Criminal Justice and the significant roll it plays in our community.

Criminal Justice students and instructors from Rasmussen College will also be discussing the rewards and challenges associated with Criminal Justice training and its careers.

Probation officers and correctional treatment specialist job opportunities are expected to grow over 16 percent in the next 7 years, and on average professionals in the field earn about $52,000 a year in Minnesota, according to careerinfonet.org.
