Eagan (MN) — In an effort to raise support and awareness of crime and drug prevention, Rasmussen College's Eagan campus is joining thousands of communities throughout the country on Tuesday, August 5 and will host a National Night Out Party from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The focus of National Night Out is to continue to educate communities about crime awareness and prevention. Families will have the opportunity to meet local safety officials and each family will receive an official McGruff ID kit.

"Rasmussen is committed to working collectively with law enforcement agencies, local officials, civic groups, businesses, and neighbors to make Eagan a great place to work, learn, and live," Eagan Campus Director Roxanne Best said.

At National Night Out, there will be something fun for all ages. Children will have an opportunity to participate in carnival games such as an interactive Duck Pond. Teens can rock out to a Guitar Hero Tournament, and moms and dads can chat the evening away around a glowing campfire.

"The National Night Out celebration is a great opportunity to strengthen community spirit, build relationships, and have a little fun at the same time," Best said.

Live entertainment will be provided by one of Rasmussen's own Jeff Johnson. Johnson, along with friends will be performing a magic show at 6:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. Magic has been a hobby of Johnson's since he was a child and he has performed professionally in the U.S. and around the world.
