Minneapolis (Minn) — Rasmussen College has begun offering a Paralegal Associates’ degree on its Rockford and Aurora campuses in Illinois.

According to the Bureau of Labor, there will be 53,000 new paralegal positions by 2016.

The Paralegal Associates’ degree brings together academic principles and practical skill development to teach students how to provide services in all phases of the legal system under the supervision of an attorney. Graduates are exposed to the principles of corporate law as well as legal research and writing. Students are taught applicable industry skills to prepare them for positions within law firms, government agencies, and the court system.

"We are so excited to offer graduates a chance to work in this high-profile, professional industry," Director of School of Justice Studies, CarieAnn Potenza said. "Our Career Service Advisors have a number of ways to assist students in finding a rewarding career as a Paralegal," she added.
