Minneapolis, MN — Rasmussen College is pleased to announce that Andrew Maner, former Chief Financial Officer of the United States Department of Homeland Security, will be the guest speaker at this year’s graduation ceremony on September 8 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Maner was appointed as CFO of the United States Department of Homeland Security by President George W. Bush in January of 2004 and left that post in March of 2006. As CFO, Maner was responsible for all budgetary responsibilities as well as newly integrated department functions such as the United States Coast Guard, United States Secret Service, United States Customs and Border Protection and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Prior to working with President George W. Bush, Maner served under former President George Bush’s administration in the White House Office of Advance and later as a staff assistant to Press Secretary Martin Fitzwater from 1991 to 1993. He continued to serve President and Mrs. Bush following the change in administration as Director of Press and Political Affairs.

"Rasmussen College is thrilled to have a speaker with such a diverse and accomplished background as a part of our fall graduation ceremony," said Kristi Waite, President of Rasmussen College. "Mr. Maner serves as an excellent role model for our students and we are excited to welcome him to our campuses."

Maner has also held several non-government positions at the Chicago Board of Trade as well as being one of the founding partners of Aligne Inc., a technology consulting firm.

There will be a roundtable discussion hosted by Maner at the Eden Prairie campus for students and faculty prior to the graduation ceremony on September 8, from 11am-12pm. The roundtable is open to students and faculty across all 5 Rasmussen Minnesota campuses, as well as any visiting students or faculty from the school’s Rockford, IL campus.
