AURORA, Ill., (August 2, 2010) – The Rasmussen College School of Business invites students and members of the community to the fourth installment of its yearlong series, “Local Leaders in Business,” featuring Matt Parker, head of retail banking at Old Second National Bank. The series features local community and business leaders, and their insights on important subjects in the business world.
“We are excited to have Matt Parker at Rasmussen College to offer his assessment of the current financial recession and discuss the impact it has had on the consumer banking industry,” Rasmussen College Aurora Campus Director Susan Cheney said. “This installment of our ‘Local Leaders in Business’ series will provide local residents and students with an insightful look the financial crisis, as well as an overview of how the banking industry is heading towards recovery. At the same time, we aim to provide the community with the tools and knowledge they need to get ahead in the business world.”
On Monday, August 16, Matt Parker’s presentation, “Lessons from the Meltdown: Consumer Banking After the Financial Recession,” will highlight how the U.S. financial crisis led to significant changes in consumer banking and the resulting trends. Parker has more than 15 years of experience in retail, business, and commercial banking. His discussion will specifically focus on factors that led to the present recession and insights on how consumer banking can successfully recover in the future. Plus, everyone who attends the event will be entered to win a free Netbook.
