Rasmussen College Presents "Miles For Smiles" 5k Run/walk To Benefit My Pink Scarf Inc And Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation

BISMARCK, N.D., (August 12, 2010) –Registration is now open for Miles For Smiles, the first annual 5K run/walk presented by Rasmussen College to benefit My Pink Scarf Inc and the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. The event, which will kick-off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, demonstrates the ongoing commitment of Rasmussen College to supporting its students, employees, and campus communities.
My Pink Scarf is a North Dakota-based organization that supports women diagnosed with cancer. The Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation is a collaborative, non-profit community service offered by Medcenter One Health Systems and St. Alexius Medical Center to deliver state of the art care to and treatment to cancer patient throughout the region. Proceeds from the event will benefit both groups.
Helping to lead this fundraising effort is Rasmussen College Bismarck Campus Director and cancer survivor Erin Green. “Rasmussen College is determined to support the communities it serves through events like Smiles For Miles 5K Run/Walk. Cancer has touched so many lives, including mine as a 3-year breast cancer survivor,” Green said. “Bringing awareness and supporting organizations like My Pink Scarf and the Bismarck Cancer Center, which provide additional resources to those affected by cancer, brings us one step closer to finding the much needed cure.”

Forms for pre-event registration are available now at the Rasmussen College Bismarck Campus, located at 1701 East Century Avenue. The cost to participate is $15 for adults and $10 for kids 10-years-old and younger. Participation for kids younger than 5-years-old is free. Day of registration for adults is $20.
