CHICAGO, August 12, 2010 – Rasmussen, Inc. was recently named one of Chicago’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). The award was established to honor organizations that offer their employees the highest quality human resources initiatives. Rasmussen was honored along with the region’s other winners, which span a wide range of industries, including automotive, insurance, hospitality, communications, and more, at a luncheon on Monday, August 2, at the Oak Brook Marriott.
“The selection, recognition, and awarding of this year’s 101 companies allows NABR to showcase some of the area’s best practices in human resources,” NABR President Jennifer Kluge said. “Rasmussen, Inc., as well as our other honorees, has clearly demonstrated why it would be an ideal place for employees to work. Companies that capitalize on their greatest resource—their employees—know how to attract and retain top talent.”
To select the top 101 companies, an independent research firm evaluated each entry based on key measures in various categories. They included Communication, Community Initiatives, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity and Multiculturalism, Employee Education and Development, Employee Engagement and Commitment, Recognition and Retention, Recruitment and Selection, Small Business, and Work-Life Balance.
Rasmussen is a postsecondary educational services organization that offers degrees in fields of high demand through Rasmussen College and its network of 21 campus locations and its online education services provider, Deltak.
“The quality of our education and services is driven by the quality of our team,” Rasmussen, Inc. CEO Michael Locke said. “We are delighted to be named as of one Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For, which recognizes the focus we have on providing an enriching and supportive working environment, giving our employees many opportunities for personal and professional growth.”
In addition to health, dental, vision, and life insurance, Rasmussen offers employees paid vacations and holidays, short- and long-term disability policies, and a 401(k) plan. The organization also offers generous tuition scholarships for employees and their immediate families looking to pursue undergraduate and/or graduate degrees.
