Rasmussen College Welcomes Industry Veteran Derek Erfourth To The Growing School Of Technology And Design At Its Fort Myers Campus

Information Systems Expert Brings Valuable Experience to New Role As Full-Time Instructor

FORT MYERS, Fla., (September 21, 2010) – Rasmussen College in Fort Myers, Fla., recently welcomed industry veteran Derek Erfourth as its newest full-time instructor. He joins a growing team of experienced faculty dedicated to bringing the highest quality education opportunities to students interested in entering rapidly growing fields in the technology and design industry. A Iona, Fla., resident, Erfourth brings more than 15 years of experience in Information Systems (IS) and other technology applications to his new role at Rasmussen College.

“Fort Myers continues to attract a growing number of design and technology businesses, and with job opportunities in technology and design expected to increase significantly in the coming years, Rasmussen College instructors like Derek Erfourth will help provide students with the skills they need to compete in the future workforce,” Rasmussen College Fort Myers Campus Director Eric Whitehouse said.

In his new position, Erfourth will draw from a diverse background in the industry, including experience in operating systems, networking, hardware, scripting, Microsoft SOL Server, and programming. Prior to joining Rasmussen College, Erfourth spent 18 years at AAA and the last 15 years supporting the IS team. His roles included Club Support Analyst, where he was responsible for providing application support, to Senior Systems Analyst, where he maintained the Internet and Intranet presence for AAA. Erfourth also provided LAN and application support to AAA at The Walt Disney World Resort.

Erfourth earned his Master’s Degree in Information Systems and Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.

The Rasmussen College School of Technology and Design offers a wide variety of degree programs specifically designed to meet the demands of growing industries, including an Associate’s in Information Systems Management degree program with specializations in Computer Information Technology, Database Administration, Network Administration, Network Security & Forensics, and Web Programming, and an Associate’s in Multimedia Technologies degree program with specializations in Digital Design and Animation and Web Design.
