Created in 2006 by students enrolled in the Rasmussen College School of Technology and Design, the Techies has grown into an organization that encompasses students from all degree programs. The group raises money for nonprofit organizations, such as the American Cancer Society and United Way, by collecting donations from the student body and community for repairing computers and operating a school store that sells snacks and school supplies. They also help tutor their peers and volunteer for various Rasmussen College functions, many of which also support community-based organizations.
