Rasmussen College Student Club Hosts Halloween Fundraising Event To Benefit The American Cancer Society Relay For Life
Fourth Annual Fall Festival and Haunted Classroom Event Provides Family Friendly Fun for the Whole Community this Halloween

OCALA, Fla., (October 5, 2010) – Rasmussen College will open the doors of its Ocala campus on Saturday, October 30 for the Fourth Annual Fall Festival and Haunted Classroom event, benefiting Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event. Coordinated by the Techies, an on-campus service and volunteer group that has generated more than $14,000 to date for local charities and organizations, this family friendly day will include children’s face painting, games and additional fun surprises.
Admission to the outdoor Fall Festival is free and tickets for activities can be purchased on site for just $.25 each or five for $1. General admission tickets to enter the Haunted Classroom are $4. Rasmussen College students with a current school ID and children under 10 years old only pay $2. Attendees who bring a canned food item will save a dollar off their admission fees.

Created in 2006 by students enrolled in the Rasmussen College School of Technology and Design, the Techies has grown into an organization that encompasses students from all degree programs. The group raises money for nonprofit organizations, such as the American Cancer Society and United Way, by collecting donations from the student body and community for repairing computers and operating a school store that sells snacks and school supplies. They also help tutor their peers and volunteer for various Rasmussen College functions, many of which also support community-based organizations.
