FORT MYERS, Fla., (October 15, 2010) – As it celebrates two years in Fort Myers, Rasmussen College invites local community members to attend an open house for its new School of Nursing on Thursday, October 21 from noon to 2 p.m. This event coincides with the 110-year anniversary of Rasmussen College, founded in 1900 in Stillwater, Minn. Attendees will be the first to tour the new nursing laboratories while enjoying food and other refreshments in celebration of the anniversaries.
Originally opened for enrollment in October 2008, Rasmussen College offers students in the Fort Myers community and surrounding area the ability to earn a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a number of study areas, including its specialized School of Allied Health, School of Business, School of Justice Studies, School of Technology and Design, and now, for the first time in Fort Myers, School of Nursing. Today, Rasmussen College serves more than 15,000 students nationwide through its network of campuses and online degree programs.
“After two years serving the Fort Myers community by providing degrees and programs in fields expected to see the greatest future career growth, Rasmussen College continues its commitment to helping students achieve their educational and professional goals by providing the highly-demanded Professional Nursing degree through our new School of Nursing,” Rasmussen College Fort Myers Campus Director Eric Whitehouse said. “The new facility will offer students access to degree programs previously only available online, making the process of earning a degree in practical or professional nursing even more convenient, depending on students’ individual needs.”
