Rasmussen College Names Thomas Slagle Chief Executive Officer
Slagle to Lead Operations for 110-Year-Old College

MINNEAPOLIS, (October 19, 2010) – Rasmussen College has named Tom Slagle Chief Executive Officer. Slagle brings more than 20 years of management experience to Rasmussen College, which offers Bachelor’s and Associate’s degrees in fields with the greatest occupation opportunities to more than 15,000 students both online and through its network of 21 campus locations.
A veteran in business management, Slagle has spent 21 years providing expertise to top healthcare companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Baxter, and Cardinal Health, where he oversaw the $7.5 billion Supply Chain Services - Medical segment as Group President. Prior to joining Rasmussen College, Slagle was President and Chief Operating Officer of School Specialty, Inc., a $1.1 billion market-leading provider of supplemental materials and supplies, content and curriculum, and furniture and equipment in the K-12 market in both the United States and Canada. Mr. Slagle will operate out of the College’s new headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota.

As CEO of Rasmussen College, Slagle will oversee all 21 campuses in five states along with Rasmussen College Online, spearheading the design and implementation of programs that support the mission of Rasmussen College and the expansion of its quality, targeted educational offerings.
Slagle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo.
He has served as a board member of Source Medical, a leading Canadian medical products distributor acquired by Cardinal Health in 2005, and is a past board member of HIDA (Health Industry Distributor Association).
