CHICAGO, November 15, 2010 — Rasmussen, Inc. has been named to the Top Workplaces list for 2010 by the Chicago Tribune in partnership with Workplace Dynamics. The award was established to recognize the region’s best places to work through surveys completed anonymously by the employees themselves. Rasmussen ranked second of thirty-five companies recognized in the midsize companies category.
Rasmussen is a post-secondary educational services organization that offers market-relevant undergraduate and graduate degrees through Rasmussen College, which offers high-quality degrees online and through its network of 21 campuses, and its online education services provider, Deltak. Rasmussen is focused on the development of its employees similar to its students and offers generous tuition scholarships for employees and their immediate families pursuing Associate’s degrees, Bachelor’s degrees and/or graduate degrees.
Rasmussen is involved in continuous efforts to benefit the communities it serves. In July 2010, Rasmussen employees devoted an unprecedented 6,500 cumulative hours of work volunteering throughout their communities as part of the annual Rasmussen Community Service Day. Such opportunities not only benefit the communities where its campuses are located throughout the Midwest and Florida, as well as four central offices communities, but they also provide a forum for employees’ personal growth.
“The quality of the education and services we provide is driven by the quality of our team. We are delighted to be recognized by our employees for our continued efforts to provide them with professional growth and enrichment opportunities,” Rasmussen, Inc. CEO J. Michael Locke said. “We are proud to be among Chicago’s Top Workplaces. To be named to the list through a process motivated by our greatest asset, our employees, is a unique honor.”
In May 2010 nominations were accepted for top workplaces with 100 employees or more in the Chicago area. Nominated companies were then tapped by the Chicago Tribune partner Workplace Dynamics to complete surveys that would determine a list of companies that develop dynamic, supportive, and inclusive cultures and maintain these standards during tough times.
