MINNEAPOLIS, MN (April 26, 2011) – The Rasmussen College School of Nursing will celebrate nurses and nursing students during National Nurses Week, which begins May 6 and ends May 12, with campus activities and community events.
nuThis year marks the twenty-first year of National Nurses Week, according to the American Nurses Association, and it is an opportunity for the public to celebrate and recognize nurses for their work and accomplishments.
The Rasmussen College School of Nursing will host multiple events in honor of the week across its many campuses including a community-wide nursing career fair and a nursing professional development day at the Brooklyn Park, MN college campus, a lecture series all week at the Ocala, FL college campus, and student activities across all of the campuses.
“We are privileged to be able to honor the many great men and women who work in the nursing field during National Nurses Week,” Rasmussen College School of Nursing Director Maggie Ozan Rafferty said. “Not only will we be honoring those nurses who have given their whole lives to nursing, but we will also honor the future nurses—those who are nursing school right now.”
The Rasmussen College School of Nursing includes practical nursing diplomas, practical nursing associate’s degrees, professional nursing associate’s degrees, and a new RN to BSN online program for current nurses interested in moving upward in their careers.
