TAMPA, Fla. (June 7, 2011) –Rasmussen College, a private, regionally accredited college focused on career development and student support, has just opened its fifth Florida college campus, the third college in the Tampa Bay area, near Lutz and Land O’ Lakes and is enrolling new students to start classes in August.
The brand new, 25,000 square-foot, top-of-the-line facility features the latest technology in healthcare, computer science, and business.
The new campus is expected to bring 40 full-time jobs to the Tampa Bay area over the first few years.
While it just opened its campus in Tampa/Brandon one year ago, Rasmussen College has been a presence in Pasco County for more than twenty years. The new Lutz/Land O’Lakes-area campus and the New Port Richey campus will both serve students in northern Tampa Bay.
“The new campus will allow us to expand the educational opportunities available to Pasco County and its surrounding communities,” Rasmussen College Campus Director Mike Ramos said. “Rasmussen College offers one of the few regionally accredited four year bachelor’s degree options in Pasco County.”
Founded in 1900 in St. Paul, Minn., Rasmussen College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is an innovator of higher education, offering degrees online and across its 22 campus locations in the Midwest and Florida in a student-centric and career-focused environment.
The new campus will be 2.5 miles east of the Suncoast Parkway on Highway 54 near Sunlake High School. The first day of classes will be Monday, August 8.
