MINNEAPOLIS, MN (August 4, 2011) – Rasmussen College, a leading provider of high quality, career-focused education, will host its Summer Career Expo on August 25th, 2011 at 20 of its nationwide campus locations located throughout the Midwest and Florida.
The Summer Career Expos are free events open to students, alumni, members of the community and employers. The Expos provide an opportunity for jobseekers and employers to come together to discuss employment opportunities and advice on career paths and planning.
“Considering the negative unemployment figures, job seekers need all the assistance they can get in order to stand out and be noticed by selective employers,” said Rasmussen College National Director of Career Development Tamryn Hennessy. “Our Summer Career Expos give all of our students and the general public the chance to talk directly to employers to showcase their marketable skills.”
All of the Summer Career Expo events will feature businesses from a range of industries, including business, healthcare, social services, design, and education. Rasmussen College students will also be present at the expos to discuss their individual field of study and planned career with jobseekers and prospective students.
In addition to the campus-wide Summer Career Expo, several campuses are offering informative workshops throughout the month of August, including Resume Writing Workshops and Mock Interview Workshops. In addition, some campuses will offer a personal review of student’s career search collateral and a discussion on the Unwritten Rules of a Career Expo.
To help prepare attendees for the Summer Career Expos, Rasmussen College will offer a webinar entitled “Brand New You: How to Market Yourself in Today’s Economy” at 11 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Aug. 17 and again at 6 p.m. CST on Thursday, Aug. 18. The webinar will discuss why a “personal brand” is necessary and the importance of building and maintaining this brand to support a successful career.
The 2011 Summer Career Expos will be held August 25th at the following Rasmussen College locations: Appleton, WI, Aurora, IL, Bismarck, ND, Blaine, MN, Bloomington, MN, Brooklyn Park, MN, Eagan, MN, Fargo, ND/Moorhead, MN, Ft.
