IP Telephony Career / Salary Information
Voice Communications Analyst - $31,272 (10th percentile)
Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, and designs, reviews, analyzes, and maintains an organization's voice communications system. Makes suggestions to end users regarding voice communications software and hardware solutions, offers support, and troubleshooting. Ensures uninterrupted access to all voice telecommunication features, including voicemail, ACD, or PBX systems. May research and recommend vendors.
VoIP Test Engineer - $57,938 (10 th percentile)
VoIP Test Engineers are responsible for analyzing project requirements from test objectives on VoIP systems, writing test strategies and test plans, performing tests, producing detailed test reports, and managing and maintaining the test bed.
IP Telephony Architect - $62,112 (10th percentile)
VoIP Test Engineers are responsible for planning, solution structure, assessment, analysis, design, architecture, client relationship management & technical writing for IP Telephony systems. They gather requirements, develop detailed designs, and lead technology implementation, in addition to proposal development and sales support.
Voice Communications Manager - $72,094 (10th percentile)
Responsible for managing the policies and procedures of the voice communications in order uninterrupted access to all voice telecommunication features, including voicemail, ACD, or PBX systems. Oversees the design and implementation of voice telecommunications networks. Selects vendors and negotiates contracts. Reviews reports on system specifications in support of system upgrades and makes final decision regarding updates. Involved in long range or strategic voice communications plans. This is not an entry-level position and requires additional experience to attain.
