What You Do in Exercise Science and Wellness
When you graduate with an Exercise Science degree, you will be prepared to perform health and fitness assessments and prescribe training and nutritional regimens for people with a variety of health and fitness needs.
- Evaluate client needs, abilities, and physical condition
- Design appropriate exercise programming for recreational, sport, power, and cross training activities
- Help prevent overtraining and burnout by understanding individual dynamics as they relate to sport and exercise
- Identify muscular imbalances, which may lead to inefficient function or pain, and how to reduce these imbalances to eliminate further compensation
- Analyze muscle and joint motion pertaini ng to movement patterns on various types of fitness equipment
