Exercise Science Degree Job/Salary Information
Exercise Specialist - $32,441 (25th percentile)
In a healthcare setting, an Exercise Specialist identifies risk factors and
designs specialized strength and conditioning programs for patients. They educate
patients on proper exercise technique, and on the correct techniques for transitioning
hospital-based fitness programs to safe and effective home exercise programs.
Fitness Instructor - $35,879 (25th percentile)
Fitness Instructors coordinate all fitness programs for a facility. They organize
and instruct exercise classes, and ensure that all participants are properly
trained on the use of the facility's exercise equipment. Fitness Instructors
are responsible for making sure that the exercise area and equipment are safe
and clean.
Personal Trainer - $36,070 (25th percentile)
Personal trainers are responsible for developing and implementing a specialized
exercise regimen for their clients. They work to ensure fitness programs, which
may include elements such as physical fitness, nutrition, cardiovascular training,
and weight training, meet the needs of their clients. Personal Trainers offer
guidance and support in order to help their clients achieve their goals.
Fitness Center Director - $59,518 (25th
percentile)
Fitness Center Directors oversee the fitness-related aspects of a health club
or fitness center. Their work involves creating and maintaining programs that
meet the needs of the club’s members, including new member orientations,
fitness assessments, and workout incentive programs. They also select fitness
equipment; coordinate personal training and group exercise programs; hire,
train, and supervise fitness staff; and carry out administrative duties. This
is not an entry-level position and may require additional experience and/or
education to attain.
