Medical Assisting Salary Information

Medical Assistant - $24,985 (25th percentile)
As a Medical Assistant, you will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. You will interview patients, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and record information on patients' charts. In your Medical Assistant job, you may be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Medical Assistants prepare treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Medical Assistants are familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the health care field, and rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They perform a variety of tasks and typically report to supervisor or manager.
