How We Help

Everyday, our Student Services Coordinators help students just like you through issues that might otherwise hold them back from success. Here are just a few examples:

Megan’s Story

Megan had purchased the wrong books and her class was starting in a couple of days. When she called into the Personal Support Center, she was frantic. Natasha, a Student Services Coordinator, listened carefully to Megan’s problem. Then, she explained to Megan that her first three weeks of reading assignments had been loaded into ANGEL so she could complete those without issue.

Then, Natasha called Megan’s campus and arranged to get books for her.

Alberto’s Story

Alberto was working on his Graduate Achievement Portfolio (GAP) and found that he had accidentally forgotten to save one of his best assignments to his PC after finishing it. He was very upset when he called into the Personal Support Center, because he knew he really needed that assignment to complete his graduation requirements.

Jason, an online Student Services Coordinator, was able to locate Alberto’s old course, which was archived into our Course Management System. Jason was able to download Alberto’s missing assignment and email it to him.

Alberto was able to complete his GAP Portfolio and graduate with his Associate’s degree in Accounting.

Denise’s Story

Denise was going through some rough times. She had severe medical and personal issues that were keeping her from completing her classwork, and she was almost ready to quit school. Christine, an online Student Support Coordinator, worked with Denise’s instructors so, that she could make it through the term with extra help. Everyone was very happy when she completed, not only the term, but continued on to complete her entire course load and graduate.

Christine attended Denise’s graduation and stood up for her when she walked to receive her degree.

New Student Orientation

Starting something new can be intimidating. That’s why we offer a New Student Orientation to help you feel at ease in your new environment. Your Student Services Coordinator will walk through your orientation with you and answer any questions you may have.

Our New Student Orientation will:

  • Help you recognize the impact of your academic performance
  • Describe student life at Rasmussen College
  • Identify the Student Service resources available to you
  • Teach you what to expect in an online course
  • Describe “key success factors” required to become a college graduate

If you are an Online or blended-learning student, your orientation will also provide you with a brief look at an online classroom, in preparation for your courses.

If you would like to know more about attending the orientation, please call your preferred campus location.
