Pinterest Webinar: Developing Your Personal Brand

Rasmussen College’s alumni and career services teams hosted a webinar on Oct. 3 for alumni and job seekers interested in building their personal brand through the social media network Pinterest.

Discussion during the webinar circulated around how to build one’s personal brand through the social networking site and why it is a valuable asset to your job search. Topics that were covered in this alumni and career services webinar included:

  • How to build your Pinterest account (Skip to 4:59 in the video to see this information)
  • How to build your personal brand on Pinterest (11:25)
  • How Rasmussen College uses Pinterest (19:05)
  • How to gain visibility through Pinterest to showcase your personal brand (21:51)

More than 100 participants registered for the webinar and around 50 of them viewed the live webinar. Those who did not get the chance to view during the live session were sent a copy of the webinar via email.

Alongside the host, Kendall Bird, were Rasmussen College career experts, Tamryn Hennessy, national director of career services and Kelsey Granowski, career services advisor.

Some of the most compelling questions asked during the webinar included:

  • Are there privacy settings in Pinterest?
  • Are there privacy settings in Pinterest?
  • Should I include my Pinterest URL on my resume?
  • How do you “invite” others to view your profile?
  • Can you individualize your Pinterest URL?
