Types of Assistance
Note: Financial Aid awards run year-round from July 1 to June 30.
Pell Grants and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants:
- The maximum full-time Pell Grant award for ‘06-‘07 is $4050; maximum for 07-08 award year is $4310.
- These grants are awarded based on the level of enrollment (the number of credits being taken per term) and financial need as determined by federal formulas.
- Each campus awards SEOG, depending on the amount of funding that has been allocated to the institution for the award year.
- If you currently have a Bachelor’s degree, you are not eligible to receive Pell grant funding.
Federal Loan Programs:
Federal Subsidized Stafford Loans
These loans don’t accrue interest while you are attending school, but you must be enrolled at least half-time. Refer to the college catalog for loan limits.

State Programs:
Some states offer additional funding in the form of grants, scholarships, or loans. To find out whether you qualify for state funding, contact our Financial Aid Office.
Alternative Loans:
Various lenders offer alternative loan sources that cover the costs of attendance that are not covered through federal programs. Check with your lender of choice for information on loan options available for your convenience.
Outside Sources:
All campuses accept funding from outside sources for attendance. Contact the Financial Aid Office at your campus if you need to arrange for outside funding to pay for any part of your educational expenses.

Rasmussen College’s Military Servicemember Discount
We are proud to announce that we are offering a 10% tuition discount to all United States Military Servicemembers and in addition, we will extend the 10% discount to the spouse and dependents, age 18 - 21, of any service member on active duty as outlined above. These individuals must provide an actual or faxed copy of their dependent military ID card, which includes an expiration date.
This represents an expansion from our original military tuition discount to include a Servicemember's spouse and/or children.
Servicemembers may also have the ability to accept military-specific tuition assistance, including the Military GI Bill and Federal Financial Aid, to help them pay for the remainder of their tuition to Rasmussen College.
