IRS-Approved Continuing Education Courses for Tax Professionals

 

Recent changes in IRS regulations have brought new education requirements for the tax preparation industry. Tax professionals who are not Enrolled Agents, CPAs, or attorneys are now required to obtain 15 hours of qualified continuing education per year, consisting of 10 hours of federal tax law topics, three hours of federal tax law updates, and two hours of ethics or professional conduct. Continuing education for the 2012 tax year must be completed no later than December 31, 2012.
