The Rasmussen College School Of Technology Joins The Comptia Authorized Academy Partner Program
Partnership will prepare students for Information Technology careers and improve employability
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (May 30, 2013) – In an effort to better prepare students for a career in information technology, the Rasmussen College School of Technology has joined the CompTIA Authorized Academy Partner Program. CompTIA is the leading provider of vendor-neutral skills certifications for the international IT workforce. The CompTIA Academy Partner Program is designed to assist academic institutions in enhancing the learning experience for students preparing for a career in information technology.
“At Rasmussen College, we take pride in helping our School of Technology graduates become successful by providing in-demand degree programs, as well as industry-relevant, online, classroom and lab curriculum that incorporates industry certification learning,” said Matt Petz, Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs at Rasmussen College. “We have always supported our students in earning CompTIA certifications and now this partnership heightens the academic quality of our School of Technology programs.”
The partnership will help Rasmussen College faculty members better prepare our students to pass CompTIA’s highly-valued industry certification exams, making them more marketable when it comes time to find a job. Up to three of CompTIA’s certification exams, and the related practice exams, are now available at no additional cost to Rasmussen College School of Technology students and faculty members. These important resources are crucial to keeping both students and faculty up to date on the latest industry trends and skills.
“In today’s economy, the IT skills gap is a big concern,” said Brian Matzelle, Education Manager at CompTIA. “We need educated professionals with documented skills that can fill the thousands of high-wage jobs that are currently open. We are very pleased Rasmussen College has become a partner in the CompTIA Academy Program, and look forward to helping close the skills gap.”
