Creating Job Opportunity for the Community: Rasmussen College to Host National Career Expo
Bi-Annual Expo Gives Students and Community Access to Local Employers
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Feb. 18, 2013) – As the national job market continues to rebound, businesses are once again looking to add top talent to their teams. Rasmussen College is supporting the talent search by hosting its bi-annual, nationwide Winter Career and Networking Expo on Thursday, February 21. The expo will give job-seekers within the community the opportunity to connect with employers and organizations, explore career opportunities, and gain valuable job-seeking knowledge.
“The career expo is designed to give current Rasmussen College students, graduates and job-seekers a distinct advantage in their career search,” said Tamryn Hennessy, Rasmussen College National Director of Career Services. “In addition to the opportunity to network with the dozens of employers, leading business professionals will be on hand to assist expo participants in refining their resume, researching potential employers, and honing their interviewing techniques.”
The Winter Career and Networking Expo will focus primarily on improving job search success. Some Expo locations will have opportunities for individuals to improve their LinkedIn profiles with a social media expert, attend webinars and seminars for career insights, and network with fellow professionals, students, and job seekers. Rasmussen College has a commitment to student outcomes and to the success of the communities we are in.
“The job market is rebounding, but it’s still competitive,” said Hennessy. “It’s more important than ever for job seekers to make a great first impression. The Career and Networking Expo not only puts job-seekers face to face with potential employers, but it provides participants with the tools needed to give them an advantage during interviews and other core skills that can make a difference.”
More than 20,000 professionals and employers have attended our bi-annual Career and Networking Expos. Local companies in the healthcare, retail, business services, insurance and other industries will participate at Rasmussen College campus locations across the country.
