Rasmussen College To Host Nationwide Career And Networking Expo
Local events at 21 campuses kick off simultaneously to help jobseekers gain competitive edge
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Sept 5, 2013) – In a continually tough job market, it’s critical for job seekers to achieve a competitive edge. Rasmussen College’s annual Career and Networking Expo, set for September 9-13, is designed to give students, recent graduates and other job seekers an opportunity to enhance their career search skills and meet with large, sought-after employers. The Expo features simultaneous workshops, webinars, networking events and panel discussions at 21 Rasmussen College campus locations.
The Career and Networking Expo will focus primarily on improving job search success with tips to help participants impress potential employers by putting their best face forward, on paper, online and in person. Rasmussen College career services professionals, along with local business partners at each campus location, will assist participants in refining their resumes and improving networking, preparation and interviewing skills. They also will share their perspective on what differentiates one finalist from another and discuss the importance of keeping skill sets current.
“We all know that you only get one chance to make a first impression, and in this competitive job market, that first impression can make or break your chances at an exciting new career,” said Tamryn Hennessy, national director of career development at Rasmussen College. “We expect job seekers will leave the Expo with the new skills, techniques and confidence they need to start – or advance – their career.”
Dozens of local companies in the healthcare, retail, business services, insurance and other industries will participate at Rasmussen College campus locations across the country. The event kicked off with a number of preview events starting the week of August 26. Admission to all events is free for the general public.
