Rasmussen College Names Brent Dobsch As Chief Financial Officer
The College's new CFO brings with him experience in finance and accounting for both not-for-profit and for-profit businesses.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Sept. 11, 2013) – Rasmussen College today announced the appointment of Brent Dobsch as its new chief financial officer. Dobsch, who joins the College effective immediately, will oversee all aspects of finance and accounting, including financial strategy, management and reporting.
“Brent brings years of experience in finance and accounting for both not-for-profit and for-profit businesses,” said Tom Slagle, Rasmussen College chief executive officer. “He has proven his leadership in strategy development and execution and has established himself as an effective and trusted partner in executing key growth initiatives. We are excited to have him join Rasmussen College, building the strength of our executive leadership team.”
Prior to joining Rasmussen College, Dobsch served as the chief financial officer of UL Environment, a subsidiary of Underwriters Laboratories. In this position, he led all finance, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions for the $25 million startup. He also successfully led the board-driven project to reorganize the company from a not-for-profit to a for-profit company to support global growth and external investment.
“The Higher Education space is changing rapidly, and colleges need to be prepared to meet the new demands in both the delivery of education and effective financial management across these new market dynamics,” Dobsch said. “I look forward to joining Rasmussen’s strong leadership team to help develop strategies for funding future growth while executing a rigorous standard of disciplined decision making, cost and performance analysis and financial management reporting.”
Dobsch earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Delaware and dual master’s degrees in finance and information systems from the University of Pittsburgh. He also graduated from an executive leadership program at Yale University School of Management. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) in Illinois.
