Rasmussen College Partners With White Earth Tribal And Community College To Offer Bachelor’s Degrees To Graduates
College enters into articulation agreement to provide seamless, transferable credit options and discounted tuition to local graduates
BLOOMINGTON, MN (Dec. 5, 2011) – Working together to provide enhanced educational opportunities to students in the surrounding communities, Rasmussen College and White Earth Tribal and Community College (WETCC) formalized an official articulation agreement to create seamless credit transfer policies and tuition discounts to its currently enrolled and potential students. WETCC is an Anishinaabe controlled liberal arts college and a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium and the National Association of Land Grant Institutions. The agreement went into effect November 1, 2011.
WETCC graduates who have received their Business Associate’s degree will be able to transfer a block of 90 quarter credits into the Rasmussen College Business Management Bachelor’s degree program, without jeopardizing the mission or goals of either institution. Student’s transferring in will receive an immediate junior-level standing, and receive a 10 percent discount on tuition.
“Rasmussen College is very excited to partner with White Earth Tribal and Community College. Their mission and dedication to delivering educational excellence to the community directly aligns with our mission and vision at Rasmussen College,” said Kristi Waite, Rasmussen College president. “This articulation agreement is a great initial first step in developing local solutions that allow students in our communities to continue their education if desired. We look forward to developing more opportunities with WETCC.”
Students from WETCC will be granted admission to the Business Management Bachelor’s degree program at Rasmussen College based on meeting the academic requirements of having earned their Associate’s degree and adhering to Rasmussen College’s admissions requirements.
Once enrolled, students will have access to Rasmussen College’s network of Support+ student services. Support+ is available to all students at no additional cost and consists of program managers, financial aid advisors, 24/7 technical assistance, academic tutoring, industry-experienced instructors, career service advisors and a portfolio of other services customized to help students achieve academic and career success.
“Our goal at Rasmussen College is to develop partnerships and services that provide high quality education to the community, and the necessary support services to our students for them to be successful. Aligning with colleges like WETCC helps us better accomplish that goal,” said Waite.
