Rasmussen College Launches Newly Redesigned Accounting Bachelor’s Degree-Completion Program with Reduced Tuition
Program prepares students for industry certification and allows them to earn their degree in as few as 18 months
Minneapolis (October 27, 2015)–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, today announced the launch of a newly redesigned Accounting Bachelor’s degree-completion program with reduced tuition. The affordable program is designed to help students gain the skills most valued by employers, including managerial accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliation, payroll and bookkeeping. Students benefit from hands-on opportunities in their courses, including extensive training with industry software so they can better manage finances, and they can complete the program in as few as 18 months*. Upon graduation, they are prepared for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam—a national industry certification sought after by today’s employers. Classes for the new accounting program begin in January.
“Employers tell us they are looking for skilled accountants with their CMA to help fill open managerial accounting positions within their companies, which is why Rasmussen College redesigned its Accounting Bachelor’s degree-completion program to better prepare students for a career in management,” said Brooks Doherty, dean of the School of Business at Rasmussen College. “That includes being a dynamic team member and having the skills to work with people in almost every part of a company. Employers also tell us they are looking for graduates with hands-on experience, which is why we also added an internship option to the program.”
Accounting Program Now Available at a Reduced Cost
Starting in January, new full-time students enrolling in the Rasmussen College Accounting Bachelor’s degree-completion program will see a tuition reduction of 23 percent, while part-time students will see a 16 percent cost reduction. The program is also available with the College’s Flex Choice® option, which allows students to take online, self-paced courses alongside their faculty-led courses at no additional cost. Depending on the number of self-paced courses students choose to take, they can save up to an additional 24 percent on tuition costs. That brings the total cost of the Accounting Bachelor’s degree-completion program, including all additional fees, to around $16,000 for full-time students—making it one of the most affordable advanced business degrees in the country.
This announcement represents another effort by Rasmussen College to help make college affordable and deliver value in higher education. Earlier this month, the College announced tuition reductions of as much as 51 percent across 10 other degree programs, including six additional School of Business Bachelor’s degree-completion programs.
