Rasmussen University Expands Accelerated Master's Pathway to BSN Students
The accelerated pathway helps Bachelor of Science in Nursing students earn their Master's degree faster and save up to $1,650 on their MSN degree
Minneapolis (April 29, 2021) – Today, Rasmussen University, a regionally accredited private university, announced the expansion of the accelerated Master’s Pathway to its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. BSN students can now take up to two Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) courses as part of their BSN program and save up to $1,650 on their Master’s degree if they decide to apply to the MSN program. Students who participate will also decrease their MSN degree time by one full quarter—graduating in as few as 15 months.
“We are excited to expand our accelerated Master’s Pathway to our eligible BSN nursing students in a time when the need for thought leaders who possess critical thinking skills is greater than ever,” said Dr. Joan Rich, vice president of the School of Nursing at Rasmussen University. “This provides an opportunity for students contemplating a graduate degree a versatile, flexible and cost-efficient way for students to take MSN courses while working toward their BSN degree.”
Rasmussen University’s CCNE-accredited Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is designed to help every nurse at every level finish as quickly as possible. The University offers three program entry tracks:
- BSN Standard Degree: for those without a degree who wish to become a BSN RN as quickly as possible.
- BSN Second Degree: for those with a Bachelor’s who want to make a career change into nursing.
- RN to BSN: for currently licensed RNs with an Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) who are ready to reach the next level.
Students do not have to decide at the time of their BSN enrollment if they would like to pursue their MSN. They can decide to take Master’s courses as they progress through their program.
“The accelerated Master’s Pathway allows students to shorten the time required to earn their Master’s degree, saving students time and money. Even if students don’t continue to a Master’s program, they’ll gain graduate-level knowledge and skills at no extra tuition cost,” said Dr. Ann Leja, interim president at Rasmussen University. “This is one of many ways the University provides affordable and flexible learning options designed to promote access and remove barriers for a diverse student body and help them manage the cost of a earning a degree.”
The accelerated Master’s pathway is available in many other popular programs, including Business Management, Healthcare Management, and Human Resources and Organizational Leadership. The number of eligible courses and cost savings varies by program.
