Professional Development Seminar Series Arms Community Members With Vital Microsoft Computer Skills
Seminar Hosted by Rasmussen College and Romeoville Chamber of Commerce
ROMEOVILLE, Ill., (January 19, 2011) — Community members are invited to attend “Microsoft Excel and Outlook: Tips for Intermediate Users,” a computer skills-focused seminar hosted by Rasmussen College and the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce as part of the Professional Development Seminar Series, on Thurs., Jan. 27, at 8 a.m. The seminar, taught by Rasmussen College School of Business faculty member Venus Fisher, is designed to enhance attendees’ basic skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with an emphasis on skills pertinent for several high-demand careers.
“Rasmussen College understands that the job market has become increasingly competitive and aims to provide its students and campus communities with workshops that provide the necessary skills training to become qualified professionals,” Rasmussen College Romeoville/Joliet Campus Director Amy King said. “Basic computer skills in Microsoft programs have become a standard requirement in many career fields. We are excited to partner with the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce to provide an opportunity for members of the community to improve their knowledge base and skills with these programs.”
Fisher will teach seminar attendees how to streamline and enhance spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, including displaying data in various formats through applying visual elements and advanced formulas to worksheets. Participants will also learn to customize Microsoft Outlook calendar items and e-mail messages.
