A Closer Look at the Rasmussen University – Hennepin/Anoka Campus

Since 1900, Rasmussen University has been building community through education. First opening its doors as the Rasmussen Practical School of Business in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Rasmussen University has since grown to 23 campuses, including 7 campuses in Minnesota, and has helped thousands of students change their lives through education. The University now offers dozens of academic programs ranging from Certificates to Doctoral degrees across seven areas of study, including Business, Design, Education, Health Sciences, Justice Studies, Nursing and Technology.

The Hennepin/Anoka campus, opened in 2022, provides students with an innovative and accessible university environment.

“The new Hennepin/Anoka campus gives Rasmussen University the opportunity to serve our students with a high-tech facility that will continue to build upon our 120-plus-year tradition of excellence in higher education,” says McIntosh.

Where is the Hennepin/Anoka campus located?

The new Hennepin/Anoka campus is located at 5555 96th Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, north of the 610 off-ramp and south of 96th Avenue North, near the borders of both Hennepin and Anoka counties. The area boasts new healthcare facilities and many new restaurants for dining and relaxing.

The new campus location also offers plenty of parking for drivers coming from throughout the metro.

What programs are offered at the Hennepin/Anoka campus?

Students at the Hennepin/Anoka campus have the option to enroll in any of Rasmussen University’s online programs. While many of these programs can conveniently be completed entirely online, students will still have a home base of support from the Hennepin/Anoka campus services. Available programs include online options in seven areas of study including Business, Justice Studies, Education, Health Sciences, Technology, Design and Nursing.

Additionally, this campus serves as an on-campus home base for nursing and health sciences programs, like the Practical Nursing Diploma program and the Surgical Technologist Associate’s Degree program.

What resources and support services are offered at the Hennepin/Anoka campus?

The 40,000-square-foot Hennepin/Anoka campus is the largest Rasmussen campus in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. It offers high-tech facilities—including large classrooms, new computers, a lounge and quiet commons spaces. This campus also houses new labs, including:

• A Simulation Center
• Nursing skills labs
• Physical therapy lab
• Medical assisting lab
• Surgical technology lab

Though the space is great, the people are what make the campus unique. The campus is a great place to interact with the professors, get to know fellow students and knock out some coursework in a supportive environment. “When students walk onto campus, I want them to feel that they are getting the best facilities, technology and learning environment in the Twin Cities,” says McIntosh.

How is the Hennepin/Anoka campus involved in the local community?

By setting students up for success, the Twin Cities metro area campuses are bettering the community as a whole—but that’s not the only impact they have on the community. They’ve partnered with organizations like:
