Rasmussen College Reduces Tuition Nationwide

“When we lowered tuition two years ago, we knew it would not be a one-time solution,” said Dr. Trenda Boyum-Breen, president at Rasmussen College. “With the growing student debt crisis in the United States, it’s our responsibility to make sure we consistently review the impact tuition has on our students’ future and look for opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining a great student experience and positive outcomes. In recent years, Rasmussen College has launched several cost-saving initiatives, such as new scholarships, as well as Flex Choice, the College’s competency-based learning option. Our latest tuition reduction is just one more way Rasmussen College is helping to make every student’s higher education experience a successful investment.”

Rasmussen College Expands Flex Choice to Several Additional Degree Programs

In addition to lowering tuition costs nationally, Rasmussen College is also helping more students save money by expanding its Flex Choice learning option to several additional degree programs. Flex Choice allows students to take online, self-paced competency-based courses alongside their faculty-led courses at no additional cost. Depending on the degree program and number of self-paced courses students choose to take, they can save anywhere from *26 to 45 percent in tuition costs when compared to taking all faculty-led courses at Rasmussen College. Flex Choice is also designed to help students graduate up to six months sooner. The degree programs added to the Flex Choice option include:

• Marketing
• Business Systems Analysis
• Finance
• Early Childhood Education Leadership
• Human Services
• Criminal Justice Leadership and Management

Associate’s Degree Programs

• Health Information Technology
• Human Services
• Criminal Justice

“We are thrilled to once again expand the College’s Flex Choice learning option, helping more students save thousands of dollars as well as providing them with a more flexible learning experience that better meets the demands of today’s student population,” Dr. Boyum-Breen said. “This unique learning model allows students to complete some of their work at their own pace and on their own schedule—all at a more affordable cost, and we plan to expand Flex Choice to additional programs in the near future.”
