Rasmussen College Launches Future Nurses of Wisconsin Scholarship
Scholarship to save new students up to $4,600 on their Professional Nursing associate’s degree
Green Bay, Wisc. (August 5, 2015)–Rasmussen College, a regionally accredited private college and Public Benefit Corporation, recently launched a Future Nurses of Wisconsin scholarship in an effort to help address the shortage of nurses across the nation. The scholarship, which is immediately available for new students enrolling in the Professional Nursing Associate’s Degree (ADN) program at Rasmussen College, could lower tuition by up to $4,600.* To receive the full award, students must enroll full-time at the Green Bay or Wausau campus.
Registered Nurses in Demand in Wisconsin
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of registered nurses (RNs) needed across the nation is expected to grow 19 percent by 2022—faster than the average for all occupations. According to the labor analytics firm Burning Glass, Wisconsin had more than 12,500 jobs postings for RNs during the past year. In addition, the overall need for healthcare services is increasing as the baby boomer generation ages. Wisconsin is also expected to see an increase in retirements in the registered nursing profession—adding to the nursing shortage.

At Rasmussen College, students in the professional nursing program have the option of four start dates per year. Courses are taught by experienced faculty in small class sizes with built-in preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) exam. Flex Choice®, which allows students to take some of their general education courses in an online, self-paced format alongside their faculty-led courses at no additional cost, is also available to help students earn their degree more flexibly and more affordably.
